This necklace that McKenna is wearing is what her father gave to me on OUR wedding day.

And my personal favorite photograph of them:

Man and Wife

The DJ for the event had a suggestion that Dave just loved. I liked the idea of adding some playfulness to celebration; McKenna didn't like it all. What was it? After Paster Chip introduced Dave and McKenna to the witnesses, that was the cue to the DJ to start up the recessional music.

They walked back down the isle to the tune you're listening to while donning black sunglasses. In fact, all the wedding party donned the same black sunglasses and followed the bride and groom down the isle. McKenna's objection to it was that she didn't want her recessional photographs of the two of them in sunglasses. I couldn't blame her. They rid themselves of the glasses half-way down the isle.

But it did cue the audience that the PARTY portion of the day was about to start......

The Ceremony

"He is now to be among you at the calling of your hearts. Rest assured this Trubador is acting on His part. Well, the union of your spirits here has caused Him to remain. For whenever
two or more you are gathered in His name, there is love, there is love. Well, a man shall leave his mother and a woman leave her home. And they
shall travel on to where the two shall be as one. As it was in the begining it
is now until the end, woman draws her life from man then gives it back again.
There is love, there is love.
Well then what's to be the reason for becoming man and wife? Is it love
that brings you here or love that brings you life? Oh, if loving is the answer
then who's the Giving Force? Do you believe in something that you've never seen
before? There is love, there is love.
Oh, the marriage of your spirits here has caused Him to remain, for
whenever two or more of you are gathered in His name, there is love, there is
love."

The moment their eyes met

Music to read by: Pachabel's Canon in D

McKenna could peek through the people in front of her and could see Dave standing on the deck in the sunshine but he couldn't see her in the darkness of the lodge. It was incredibly bright out that day. Bob's heart was hammering looking at his little girl playing dress up bride now. But it's time to start the walk and the wedding song begins.

The photographer did an incredible job here catching Dave's expression EXACTLY as he saw her walking to him. McKenna took his breath away.

Take care of our little girl, Dave.

Ready, Set, Go

And then, it happened. The wedding planners came to get us. My heart lept into my throat. Here I was heading downstairs, without Bob, Chris, Shaina, Dave, or McKenna. All by myself, in shock. Our baby was getting married! The next that I would see them would be in mere minutes at the ceremony but let me tell you, that walk by myself was long and lonely. It became surreal to me. Was it only yesterday that Bob and I got married. It seemed like it and now, McKenna...the last of our children. Both Bob and McKenna were cool, calm and collected as they descended the stairs for their entry onto the deck.

Dave notices that the bridesmaids and groomsmen are lining up and he knows McKenna is somewhere behind them. But first, the seating.

and then the wedding party proceeds down the aisle. Let's not forget the Ringbearer!

And the Groom waits, too

Dave, along with his groomsmen were waiting downstairs out of sight of the guests. And away from any area where he might get a look at his bride before the wedding.

Was he nervous, too?

Nah, not DAVE THE WAVE!

Take a deep breath

And now we arrive at Sunnyside to begin the final wait. There was a room set aside for McKenna and her bridesmaids to wait until the ceremony began. Here is where she donned her veil,
the bridesmaids nervously giggled,
her Dad got choked up and she peeked out the door to see all of her wedding guests.
